An Impossible Mourning

An Impossible Mourning

A Poem by Maurice

They want me to say I miss you
But that's not something I can say.
I've tried my best to feel that
But feelings like that won't come.
I wish you'd have been kinder,
A bit warmer when you were here,
With words of encouragement and not of mockery
When I did something well, whatever it was.

They say that I'm wrong that I say it,
That I can't speak kind volumes about you,
But I remember when you forced me to kiss you
When it was only an act with no feeling.

Just how much did you want me to lie?
Was I always to play a charade?
Now you're gone, and I really miss nothing
And I only can say that you're dead
Just like the gap in my heart.

the title is a good play on words, The poem is heavy-hearted and sad. A great expression of loss.

You know, this is a great poem. If there was not the affection in life then why after death?
A poignant write!
