Through the Closet Door

Through the Closet Door

A Poem by E. Paris
"

This poem was inspired by my roommate at Bible College and how we would secretly talk during study hours when we weren't supposed too :)

"

Through the closet door,

Goes our silent communication.

Except for the clanking of,

Its’ sliding forward motion.

With sticky notes and index cards,

Scotch tape to hold them down.

We quietly and stealthily,

Share the thoughts that abound.

Markers, pencils, ballpoint pens,

You name it we use them all.

To write down funny factoids,

Or quotes that we recall.

Through the closet door

Comes a pristine imagination,

For pranking random friends,

And thoughts on Lamentations.

And in this world that we now know,

As the closet door.

We are two friends on

Either side contemplating more.

We sit in silent wonder,

As the study hours pass.

And through the closet door,

We will talk about the class.

And the hushed communication,

Of this we can be sure,

That we will keep on talking,

Through the closet door.
