trees

trees

A Poem by Lore-in
"

lost in a forest of confusion.

"

Trees.

All that surrounds me.

All that I see.

Trees.

Looking for escape,

Feeling the rough branches

Grabbing

Clawing

At me.

Trees.

Evil trees.

Deathly trees.

I try to get away

The branches scratch into my skin.

I feel like I’m jailed.

A bird in a cage.

“LET ME OUT!”

I scream.

But trees don’t have ears.

They don’t listen.

They only whisper

When the wind blows.

They say hurtful words.

Words of blasphemy.

Deceit.

Words to cause pain.

Trees.

They reach out to the sky

But they’re rooted in one place.

Attempting to escape.

Climbing ever upward.

I feel like a tree.

Rooted.

Longing for escape.

Yet I can listen.

I hear the whispers.

The evil words

Whispered by the trees.

I desperately try to shut my ears

But can only shut my eyes.

Trees.

Demons in disguise.
