I remember

Just a poem I wrote for a contest :)

I remember
When he asked me
I said yes
But I made the worst mistake
I said something
That keeps repeating in my head
Something that I can never take back
Something that no one will ever understand
As I sat there
I wish I could rewind
But it was too late
The deed was done
I promised myself never to let it happen again
Months passed by
I reminded myself of my promise
But I never got the chance
I didn't even get the chance to say yes
Without knowing what he did
He took his heart away from mine
And gave it to someone else
I felt empty and hollow
No one could ever make me feel the way he did
