Bee’s rendition of “without you”

Bee’s rendition of “without you”

A Poem by xeroxcandybar

Without you, every conversation would be like a game

Without a referee.

Without you, I’d get lost in paper perspective readings,

socio-political polemics and discourse analysis.

Without you, I’d be a child without a toy.

Without you, garlic bread egg sandwiches

would just be garlic bread egg sandwiches.

Without you, there would be work to be done.

Without you, pick n pay workers would take

the same route to work every day.

Without you, voters would believe

that their vote really matters.

Without you, his and her bathroom

cabinets would make sense.

Without you, I would be perfectly content

to have music as the one friend who truly gets me.

Without you, flower shop, and pet owners

would not realise the folly of their ways.

Without you, people would be frightened of each other.

Without you, there would be no tree climbing, never ending

multiple karma sutra cuddling positions, broken Russian bear

bottles and Buddha statutes.
