The Phoenix

The Phoenix

A Chapter by Bekah B

A phoenix rising from the ashes

Of a fire burning bright

Embers sparkling, diamondlike

In the cold winter sun

He's a flying tragedy

A mythic melody

A mover, a shaker

A miracle in disguise

His wings are hope personified

In times of deep despair

A phoenix soaring stately overhead

Is a guardian and a guide

Spawned by vicious flame

The more I read through this piece, the more is exposed to me. Your words flow steadily here. You have also created a good sonic element, especially in lines 3-9. I also really like the line: "His wings are hope personified" It is such a strong concept. I can imagine the wings of the great fire-bringer igniting as he circles the galaxy.
