To Ralph

To Ralph

A Chapter by Bekah B

Boy, tell me do you understand
The meaning of the shell in your hand
Or the ever-present scar in the sand?
Should you feel like a king on a storybook page
When your friends keep parting in merciless rage
And the sea itself is naught but a cage?
Don't you know the Beast is in your souls
That the hunter boy has his own goals
So you better watch where every boulder rolls?
Do you think that they made you chief
To have power usurped by a thief
Who tortures them into his dark beliefs?
So tell me boy, what will you do
When playing war isn't enough for you
And fire burns a darker hue?
When warpaint turns to everyday scars
Or Spirituality dies by light of fire and stars?
My darling, you've seen nothing thus far.
