One NightA Chapter by Bekah B
Dreaming of castles in a now-perfect world
Hopes and wishes like diamonds and pearls I've never seen grass any more green Than the edge of this calm Emerald Isle. A bright Celtic lass runs through this grass Taming the wind for a while. Nothing left to choose, nothing else to lose She's here and it's here she will stay Watching the time fade softly away She's in ancestor's homes, out on her own And night is sliding right back into day Love comes waltzing in the door The man from the coast returning for more For given a road with a choice, a path with a fork He'll never escape the lonely woman in Cork Who loves him with all of her heart. It's been many years coming, many years tried Many years chasing hopes that have died She may be a princess, he's always a king Both unaffected by memory's sting For no pain can pass through the shield of the grass Around this castle's heart. Sunrise and sunset, the cycles still spin But time is bent where the Irish have been Whispers of destinies yet to be made Echoes of histories that won't ever change Mingle with flows of current, sharp time Perfection, stillness, rhythm and rhyme Meeting together day after day. Beautiful home and hand scripted tome Ushering in the first day of May Tonight is the night she'll make him stay Into her castle, back into her life The sum of the fears compounding the years Have brought them to the peace of today So these years have finally passed They have arrived at long last To the future they spoke of one night. Nothing left to choose, nothing else to lose For given a road with a choice, a path with a fork He'll never escape the lonely woman in Cork For no pain can pass through the shield of the grass They have arrived at long last To the future they spoke of one night. © 2010 Bekah B |
