Neurochemical Rush

Neurochemical Rush

A Chapter by Bekah B

Oh the things I do for the endorphins
Things I thought I'd left behind
But it turns out history will haunt you
Until the day you die
And even the future is futile
It's just eventual history
Awaiting its conclusion, but
For a few short months I was a woman
Strong and proud and maybe beautiful
But looking in the mirror now
That's not the face I see
There's a little girl staring back at me
Scared and alone and angry
And oh the things she does
For the endorphins you'd never believe.
