My Red Dress

My Red Dress

A Chapter by Bekah B

Hanging in the back corner of my closet
Is a little red dress I've never worn
It might be polyester
Though I really couldn't tell you
Because it's always been too pretty for me
The kind of thing beautiful girls
Wear when they host beautiful parties.
I looked at it today and thought
I should wear that dress.
Now I have an irresistible urge to put it on
Because for the first time
I know it for what it actually is.
It's a dress I want you to see me in
It's a dress I want you to get me out of
And I hope this specific beautiful dress
Ends up in an ugly heap on your floor.
It's only fair considering
You're the only one who ever
Made me feel beautiful enough to wear it.
