Four Eyes

Four Eyes

Understanding and the Space In-between

Four Eyes

I heard that song the other day

The one that tells you about living

And it got me thinking..........

Alone in pointless corridors

In ten worlds right now

A boy forever

Stereotypical Sagitearrean

In all but one

So here I am

Shackled to false hope

And plans destined to fail

This is my path

By accident or design

But my wandering heart

Begs to survive

And if we could take a look through

All four eyes

We wouldn't have to guess

Or pretend

There would be no choice or denial

And for the first time

We could see how it should be

A breakthrough denied

A life full of crop circles

I know why

But I need to hear it from you

I can't be a boy forever

The easy option is not providing

A happy ending

And if we could take a look through

All four eyes

We wouldn't have to guess

Or pretend

There would be no choice or denial

And for the first time

We could see how it should be

So many questions

But I'm haunted by why

Embrace the truth I offer

Cause I can't run any longer

So.....with this

I state my case the only way I know how

In words that can define

The emotion I have buried

I'm on my knees

My white flag nothing but a rag

I won't hide anymore

This is the force that

Drives me to self-destruct

I need you to see

The anger in me

And if we could take a look through

All four eyes

We wouldn't have to guess

Or pretend

There would be no choice or denial

And for the first time

We could see how it should be

I'm ready for a new chapter

But I need you here with me

Thank you, Emily. :-)
The title attracted me to this poem. The subject turned out to be completely different. I see pain, hope, anger and longing in this one. The emotions came out to be perfect. Well done on this work. I hope, you will get what you want very soon.
