As Sick as You

As Sick as You

A Poem by beezle

Why are you weeping?
Is somebody keeping
you locked up in your own self pity?
I shouldn't be here.
There's too much to see here.
And I'll end up giving in
to those silver teardrops
falling from your eyes.

Walls can be broken.
There's no sense in soaking
in guilt till it covers you like a stain.
Don't tell me you love me.
I'd rather you shove me
than let you put your arms
around me again.
I won't pretend to love you.

Why are you breathing?
Is life more unpleasing
with every breath that you take?
Blinded by anger.
you're sleeping with strangers.
You'll give up anything
just to find the love
your father couldn't give.

Your mind is a liar.
Distorts your desires.
I'm not the one to cling to.
I shouldn't be here.
Theres too much to see here.
And I'm not the antidote
for your hopeless disease.
I'm just as sick as you are.

Once an alcoholic....
always an alcoholic
