We Know Our Friendship

I wrote this when I was 16, about this boy I'd been friends with for a while. It's cheesy.

We know our friendship

Is close as can be.

I know all your secrets,

You're always by me.


I've spent many days

With you having fun.

When it comes to friendships,

You're my only one.


But lately I've got to thinking

That I should start looking for romance,

I want to find love, but I just can't think of

another person to make the advance.


Whenever I see you,

You make me so glad.

But all of this tension

Is driving me mad.


You're the only one I can

Turn to in this

Big scary world,

When I'm out of my wits.


But lately I've got to thinking

But I'm afraid, these thoughts that I own,

Could ruin our friendship, and make me alone.

I'm scared to think just how I'd tell you

That I think I love you.

Oh that's....pretty good! It's just that the rhyming got a bit messed up in the 5th para according to me-
"You're the only one I can
Turn to in this
Big scary world
When I'm out of my wits."
Otherwise, very good work. The poem perfectly shows that you really loved him!

Thanks for the review! I'm surprised, the only writing I've posted on here that I wrote 3+ years ago was the only one that got any reviews.

I suppose "this" and "wits" is a bit of a stretch, plus I was assuming the reader would read that first line a little faster, in my head it fits but it might not to all of you.

Oh I didn't try it out that way....but yes, it seems that my way was incorrect.
Well, I didn't get the opportunity to see all of your writings, and this was one whose title caught my attention. So you see, that's why.
