MidnightA Poem by beefjerkythe dark hour...midnight
the dark hour
so silent
so smooth
so small.
peace flowing through my veins,
with my blood.
bare streets,
lights off,
silence but that hoot,
the hoot of the wise, old owl
nested upon that old oak tree.
crickets chirping
as the moon flashes at me,
then hidden in those black clouds
then enlighting me again.
such calm
such beauty,
then gone just as dawn approaches...
