On Bended Knee

On Bended Knee

A Poem by shadowed heart

  On Bended Knee

I sit amongst shadows and darkness,

of a life once lived in fear.

My stregnth has broken barriers,

of bitter scents and fowl stench.

Questions often asked of me,

I cannot nor will not answer to whom

I choose to distrust in an on going life.

For those are the monsters of today and yesterday!

Innocence of youngsters torn to shreds,

predators that prey.

All this in such a time given to us.

For how am I to forgive?

On bended Knee in my own room of understanding,

I place my hands cupped in love, I begin to pray to a kingdom where justice

is demanded.

It is not I to be the Judge,

for judgement comes in many days.

So for this salvation I shall sit and rest,

yet for the innocent I shall invest.
