If We Didn't Have War

If We Didn't Have War

A Poem by Rebecca

If we didn’t have war, then we wouldn’t have to have families torn apart by death or distance.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t have millions of men and women staring down at us from the indigo sky.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t be a country with loads of debt- money-wise, blood-wise, happiness-wise.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t have millions of lonely women without husbands or wives, and vice versa. We wouldn’t have heartbroken parents, Or devastated siblings, Or children without a mother Or father, Or depressed friends.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t have as many houses devoid of happiness and laughter.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t have any of these things happen to our own country, or more importantly, any other country.

If we didn’t have war, we wouldn’t know the sweet taste of peace, but at least we wouldn’t have War.
