Masochism

Masochism

A Poem by Baconkiller

I want to feel happiness

And I want to feel love

Simple wants and needs of the ‘average’ person

Because happiness and love

Both prove one thing

That you are

Alive

But when I’m sad and lonely

And no one’s love is there and ready to share

I seek the darker pleasures

The back door to know your body can at least function

Tell me you love me

Then leave me the next night

Slap me across the face

Then tell me it’ll be alright

Let me feel the pain

That other people can only give

It makes me feel alive

And at least I know

That I can wake up,

Put on a smile

And go through my day

Accepting and nourishing the pain you send my way

At least I know I’m alive

and that’s more than you can say
