Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by Baconkiller

Judge: verb " to form an opinion or conclusion about

People judge

They’ll judge your hair,

Your clothes

And your face

We can accept that and laugh

At those judging, discriminating faces

But the mockery stops when you judge the love

What we love

How we love

And who we love

I’m not sorry we can’t change

Change: verb " to make or become different

We can change our hair,

Our clothes

And out face

But we can’t change our love

And we can change your opinion

Opinion: noun " a view or judgement about something,

not necessarily based on fact

Opinions are personal

We have no say in what is right

And what is wrong

To me the sky is blue

That doesn’t stop someone convinced it’s green

Either way opinions shouldn’t

Invalidate acceptance

Acceptance: noun " the process or fact of being received as adequate,

Valid, or suitable

Something we all search for

One way or another

If you won’t open your doors

You are not needed

There are others waiting for our love

Be them male

Female

Or other

Those people will gaze upon my hair,

My clothes,

And my face with their love

The what’s

How’s

And who’s or our love will be shared and respected

Something you can’t understand

And that’s what we all need.
