If a Girl is Running in the Streets at 1:45 am

A Poem by Cat Tee
"

Don't you dare walk away.

"
If a girl is running in the streets at 1:45 am on a Friday morning
Don't you dare walk away.
You will call to her "Hey, ya good?"
And she will hobble over
Shoulders heavy
weary
And you will listen
To her stresses
Her stories of her s****y TA's
How she's not getting much sleep

Be a friend
Let her talk her worries in endless laughs
But you will want to IV in her hope, some words of advice to combat darkness
But this is all you can do.
And she will walk away from you
bidding ado
without a thank you.

Your walk home will be changed
"At least we exchanged numbers."
You'll think.
At least I didn't walk away
At least I met a wonderful human being, a rare animal in its state itself
At least.
