LinesA Poem by Cat TeeI've crossed many lines before,
I've crossed many lines before,
of which I was able to tiptoe back to safety or the line just disappeared completely. This time I've crossed the last line, or the first? Maybe it was a combined couple of lines; either way, I'm stuck at the wrong side. See the line? I'm wrong? I'm wrong. How do I go back? This line won't allow erasing by smudging rubber attempts won't allow renaming by the paint's glazing drips of uppers and downers. It stays to stare me down And with gained power, it gains width every moment I linger; more square meter, inches, feet, miles to remind me of how wrong I am. I know I'm wrong. It stings to be reminded of wrongness. Yet, I don't move from here. My feet can't journey My shoes breath to breath with the ground. This is my timeline. Although I began my walk on what was the wrong side hope for me to find my way differently find happiness in what is bad excel in the anti-good, weigh my soles, unrelenting.
