Unrequited LoveA Poem by Becca BishopYes, yes, I know. Why the heck is Becca writing love poems!!! To be honest I'm not completely sure.If I could write you a poem I wouldn’t waste words on trite Phrases Or words of love Or descriptions of your eyes Or words Or smile
If wrote you a poem It would be empty Because describing you Is like describing water Or time Or happiness
When I write you a poem I hope you’ll unknowingly See you In the words that I’ve left out And that you’ll recognize my touch In every line Every phrase Every word
When I’ve written you a poem It will show you something new Something You’ve never considered But might wonder about now Something different Strange But something that might be Wonderful
When you’re reading my poem Don’t think about the meaning Or the writing Think about life And how truth is only found By those who make mistakes And take chances
When you’ve read my poem Remember to dream Only dreamers will find a reality A home, A love Worth keeping
