Soon

She sang me to sleep, 

Tucked me in

I fell in deep

To darkness that only I know

I fell and fell

For what seems like years

Woke up in a bed full of tears

The dream consumed full days

I tried to wake

But the nightmare continued despite my protest

It lasted month upon month

Until i woke up in a fog

Another six months of my life

How is it already December

When yesterday was just June?

I fell asleep to a sweet lullaby

And woke up to a nightmarish tune

The last year has gone too fast, 

It almost seems too good to be true

Another year in the trenches of my mind

But it shall be over soon
