Lay me in the garden

Lay me in the garden

A Poem by beauitifulybroken
"

the birth of a new dream, and death of an old version of me.

"
lay me down in the garden
in a field of lavender and roses
allow me to rest
in the daisies by the fountain
bury me in the flowers
leave me to rest in the east
sunset will illuminate the colours
of the wilting leaves

lay me down in the garden
allow my soul to find rest
put some eucalyptus in my hands
for me to smell in death
carry me out with the brightness of the sun
illuminating everything I've undone

pray for me to rest easy
as i couldn't when alive
plant three roses in the spot
where my head used to lie
during warmer months in the summer
with a book in hand
back against the tree
bury me in the blanket
i used to sit on, where the birds sang to me

Allow me to rest in the garden
as i did many days before
to live the dreams I once had
before i ran out of life's red door
