MY PRETTY HAIR

MY PRETTY HAIR

A Poem by Sky
"

A tribute to people who suffer from cancer

"
Combing my pretty hair
Feeling something akin to fear
Afraid of a harsh touch
My hair is beautiful as such

Long tresses shines in light
Like stars in winter nights
Smooth as silk, soft as a feather
But now it has started to wither

Run my comb gently down
Watching the mirror with a frown
Chunks of hair falling down
For reasons well beknown

"Chemo causes hair loss"
I remember the doctor say
"Don't worry,it will be okay"
I hear with a heart which froze

Feel the tears flowing down
I loved the hair I owned
I can't see it losing like this
Better be get it done with

Now I sit still staring at the floor
Where heaps of hair has been thrown
I rise my head and smile at me
I see a bald girl smiling back.

Dont give up,just fight hard
Its just hair,it will grow back
As of now my reflection is bald
But there will be a day,I believe
With long hair,I will live.

Such beautiful and heartfelt work you have done here. Knowing this first hand with people in my life, it hit home and you did an amazing job, Sky.

Well described. I liked the hopeful end. I'm glad I read this - although now I think I'll find something light hearted as a pick me up.

Watch out, your commas don't have spaces after them - just like I did at the beginning of this sentence.
"Better be get it done with" - typo?
"heaps of my hair has been thrown" - have?
"Dont give up" - don't

The first three stanzas have some rhymes and almost rhymes, but then that pattern drops out of the poem. Either have a rhyme pattern or don't rhyme (especially in the beginning) otherwise the reader will think you messed up the pattern.

Thank you for such a meaningful poem.

This words are so useful for who is in that desert. Our Cricket World cup hero was inspired with it. Great one dear.

Thank you. :-)
And yet you doubted whether you could ever write another "Just Happened Rhymer"...This is a remarkable poem and tribute Sky. One that touches the beauty of living in fear of losing what cancer takes away from a healthy body; From an unsuspecting fear.
In the end it becomes our passion for life that struggles our goals beyond our senses of loss. In a wonderful way we find a deeper beauty that cures our momentary shock...We grow deep with appreciation for what the loss of hair(cats excluded..lol.) can never take away. Beauty belongs to the soul and It becomes a cancer of our freedom from our fears and a bearing of our souls hidden under locks of gold. Something in the way of a second chance and gives us the courage to become more than a passage of truth. We become bald, naked and free. Thanks once more~

This was beautiful. Cancer can be hard, and people need motivation these days

I hope they never give up.

Good read.
