REACHING OUT

Sometimes memories are what hold us back from moving on with our lives.A tormented soul who wants to reach out to the light.But just not able to.

A new dawn is breaking
The light shining through
Yet I find from where I stand
That the light fail to reach me

I cant move cuz I'm bound
With the strongest of chains
That are the memories but
I'm not strong enough to break free

I wanna reach up the sky
Touch the clouds and feel the light
Go soaring across the twilight zone
But I cant break this hold

I try I try until I fall to the ground
Tired wounded and defeated
I want to reach out to the light
But damn this hold I cant break

I have been trying for years now
Sometimes I almost do break it
But at the last moment the burning comes
Making the chains unbreakable again

And it burns like hell
It burns through my body
Through my heart and mind
Through my soul to the very core of me

The light calls me again
But I just cant reach it
My memories holding me back
And I know this is the darkest curse.

To get loose then tightened again
To almost reach but be held back again
And the light that gives me hope
Is always there beyond my reach.
