I never saw her faceA Poem by beautifulblade2.21.15
I never saw her face when she picked up the note --
never saw the way her world came crashing down and slammed into her like a semi before spitting her onto the sidewalk. I never heard her try to cry as her lungs shrank to doll size and words got stuck in the air around her. I never felt her body shake with sobs in my arms, a sight and sensation that would break me if I saw it. I never saw her face as she lifted her eyes to the sky and searched for my soul, clutching my goodbye between her fingertips. © 2015 beautifulblade |
