Truth of Global Warming

Chemical factories sent smoke to the sky,
burnt holes in our atmosphere,
then blamed it on God.

They dumped toxic waste into the oceans,
said "oops"
then repeated the steps in secret.

They covered their tracks in oil
borrowed from BP
so the world wouldn't
know who was to blame.

Greed is the root cause of evil,
hungry devils raising the temperatures
and bringing hell to earth
because corporate b******s don't realize
this land is not their own.

It is borrowed.
It is sacred.
It is holy.

This land belonged to God
before it was even made;
created for the creatures
who have roamed for centuries
before us.

Humanity was made to be humble,
but instead the ground has
crumbled in our hands and
wasted away from neglect. 

How many species have been wiped out,
left only in history books and
man-made museums?
How many have been hunted down
to near extinction simply to be
put on display for profit?

When rain begins to burn
or stops coming down altogether,
how many will point to hell
as a culprit?

How many will point to the heavens
and claim it is a test?

How many will see truth
hidden behind corporate curtains
and oil spills, skating along
and selling water for a buck.

Maybe, if we make a difference now,
we won't have to find out.
