Wonderland

Wonderland

A Poem by beautifulblade

I twist my limbs around
summer mist
and dance along
fairy footprints
until the world is spinning
like a merry-go-round.

Leaves cover my body
like lovers searching for
the kiss that takes
my breath away.

-- I almost don't want to breathe --

...and flower petals fall,
create silk dresses
that spread out to infinity
when I twirl;

-- I am five years old again,
taking on the world with
pink tutus and pirouettes,
like ballet class could prepare us
for all the pain --

I cartwheel through rose gardens
until my head is dizzy and
my skin no longer feels the thorns...

-- I am bleeding out my sacrifice --

and my silk dress is stained with
my freedom.

What is the metaphor here? I know there is one, because it is hinted around everywhere, but I can't quite pin point it. I really liked your imagery though. For example " and flower petals fall, create silk dresses
that spread out to infinity" The imagery is so clear in my head, I can see a girl twirling around so her dress would poof out.
