To Stay.

Day 2 of 90 days of Poetry. "mild language"

Some days I want to scream "f**k the day,"

Pack my car and just drive away,

Start over someplace exciting and new,

And create a good memory or two.

I can't help but simply wonder what if,

I decided to give everyone the slip,

Walked away from all this burden,

And jump into a life uncertain.  

But a life that's also simply mine,

Where no matter if I fail or shine,

It's because of what I choose to do,

Free from the expectations you hold me to.

Does that make me a coward,

To want to leave it all behind,

And set out on my own adventure,

My own story to define.

Where I am allowed to be myself,

Don't have to try and be something else,

Relax and enjoy who I really am, 

Wouldn't it simply be just grand.

To simply say "f**k the day,"

Pack your bags and drive away,

And travel till you can finally say,

"This is a life fulfilled, a reason to stay."
