Personal Trainer

Personal Trainer

A Poem by Beatrice

If I could write every book I ever read
I'd have to stay up all night until I was dead

if I could sing every song ever sung
I'd have to begin when time had begun
for the birds sing
as do the bees
and so does the sun humming through the trees

if I could play
every note recorded, ever
It's apt I say
that will happen: never

so let us sing about dreamers
and dream about singers

lets us rhyme of love
and love those poetic thinkers

let us dance with words
and pen about dancing
creating without hindrance
living in fancy

if I could draw
every grand piece ever made
I'd surprise myself with mock distaste

but I will paint the readers
and read about painters
and teach myself everything
for I am my own trainer
