Raindrops

Raindrops

A Poem by So Ensnared Truth
"

...the open window lets the rain in

"

Raindrops

I left my window open on purpose

I knew the rain was coming

I wanted it to come

So I lay down and awaited it

It seemed to take an age to arrive

Then I heard it

The clouds burst

The downpour ensued

It took a few moments before the rain hit

Every drop that struck me felt like a bullet

Piercing my skin

I took no shelter though

I lay still

I lay still, for I wanted never again to rise

But the rain stopped

My existence persists

Well. looks like the rain was supposed to wash something away from the persona, maybe trouble or worries. But since rain stopped, the persona has to go back and face what he was running from in the first place.
A wonderful, I sense escapism and seeking refuge ans redemption.
