Walking

Walking

A Poem by So Ensnared Truth
"

Counting every step...

"

Walking

The journey isn’t all that long

Not nearly long enough

Every step taken is a step closer

Closer to where I don’t want to be

My feet pull rank and propel me forward

Forward toward solitude and sadness

I wish I could walk somewhere else

I wish I could just walk forever

Why am I getting closer?

Why am I even walking?

I don’t want to go there

I just don’t want to

But I must

It’s there or nowhere

And the thought of nowhere frightens me

Superb expression of desire for that we shouldn't want.
