Forever

You don’t realise it, but I can’t live without you

I don’t have many thoughts

The ones I do have are mostly of you

And how you make me feel

Your influence calms me so

My hands tremble if we are apart

And my nights are sleepless

 

Although I have told no one

People know of my love for you

Friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances

They all know you’re no good for me

Yet they turn a blind eye

Or worse, turn two

 

For you will be my downfall

My demise will be at your hand

A hand I choose to hold

Not through free will

But through necessity

For I have made my bed

And we will lie in it together

Forever

I don't want to call this 'funny', but I did find it humorous in an extremely macabre sort of way. Part of that comes from the fact that the first half of the poem sounds as if it could be about a person -- in a way that is generally considered socially acceptable.
