horizonA Poem by Amy Craig Beasleywatching on the horizon
the subtle movement of the clouds
today
contrast with that northern star
fixed in the heavens
I think that that star is there so that I can find you
or rather
so that you can chart a course
to me
but the waters hold danger
and the sands
on which I stand shift
and even if you find your way
will I remain
here
for you
I feel my hold slipping
and
the landslide has already begun
