mainstreaming

mainstreaming

A Poem by Amy Craig Beasley

yell into the canyon

hear the ground tremble

and

feel

the core

shift

catch the

words again

ball them in a fist

tightening

with passion

and dissipating

in the weight

and in the dream

that will

be

or not

and I drift

toward

the

magnet that

pulls

relentlessley

and

calls me

to be

shapped like

all

the mainstreaming

effect

so

very

different

now

than

what

I did

expect
