The Guilty Flame

The Guilty Flame

A Poem by Bearcub The First

Here sits a Flame

So bright in the world

Thinking it is impervious

It sits there on top of the world

Leting it shine its warmth into the people lives

It watches a young man

As the Flame watches the man he sees what is the fire in the mans heart

It is a girl

It sees how much he cares for her

He sees there first date

Its wonderful the Flame pours its self into the man

The man is so confident about the relationship

The Flame sees that it has done good

Then as it pours its spirit into the boy he sees the flaw

The boy is already a hot temper

It closly watches the boy

The boy is able to keep it contained

The Flame see that he has created a beast

The man goes out on another date with the girl

It sees them get along so well

It is over joyed

But he speaks too soon

The boy is torn to pieces the once viberant Flame is black

It is eating him alive

As the Flame watches it can do nothing

The Flame sees the pain in the mans heart

The Flame grows guilty and wonders why

Did he do this

The Flame of the world is casting a new shadow to day

As the dark and gloomy life of the Flame lingers on

It cannot bear to watch the man suffer

It is burning ever so slightly now

As every day goes by the Flame dies a bit more
