I Need Reprogrammed!

I Need Reprogrammed!

A Poem by Chad Wesley Allbrett
"

I'm not paranoid, just getting out a few things. (Break out the lobotomy snips!)

"

I hope they come after me, all of those that want a fight.

When the knock on the door is dread.

When they figure out how to notate, lip whispers.

Transcribe, notate, file away, put into a data bank.

two more dots in a sea of numbers and zeros.

On that fine spring day, when everybody's head chip is

installed.

The birds will still be worming, to them the

world will still be right.

The thoughts of the old woman sitting next to me

not heard by enemies seeking contraband thought.

Birds in there nests will not be concerned with spies.

Hopefully when they can read my thoughts,

they'll pick my finest ones, the one's I have

not written down yet.

I hope they come after me, with their steel toed boots,

and their battering door rams and their

shotgun questions.

I hope that they come to arrest me,

the great and powerful "they"

Whoever they might be.

Capitalists, Communists, Fascists, Monarchists,

Antichrists, Oligarchies, paid for gun thugs, when

I'm no longer a friend to their

Too far revolution.

Deputised strong-arms.

Security for whatever beast of a corporation that pays them.

Cops who tell me things like "driving is a privilege not a right."

Cops of every kind, come and get me,

I was born with liberty.

I love teachers and ideas,

so I'm your man.

I'm militant, free,

I have conscience integrity.

Your courts and laws arbitrary.

I'm a individual, to be judged by God alone.

If you come for me, then I know that I'm doing something right.

I agree 100%. It is my belief that one day, they'll push technology too far, and that it shall be our downfall.. Or maybe I'm just paranoid. Maybe one day, in the United States (or any other country, for that matter), they will implant chips to read our thought patterns, and people will be arrested for their thoughts alone.. No matter how ridiculous or sarcastic the thought could be, innocent people would be charged with conspiracy. It seems likely enough, in a world like ours. I like your line about judgment.. Over all, it was well worded, had good rythm... and of course, a lot of that Chad Wesley Allbrett attitude about it, that makes me want to read more. I really liked it. Good job!

I agree with alot of your thoughts, but not all. To be judged by god alone yes, but I do long to fit in a society where all the peices of the puzzle fit, if you know what I mean.

I do like the last line a lot though "If you come for me, then I know that I'm doing something right."

Makes perfect sense to me.

Nice write.
