fame

fame

A Poem by beancountersar
"

At lunch today while driving through Wendy's, it suddenly dawned on me that celebraties are denied even this nice convenience. I thought about how terrible it must be to live a lie...being someone inside, yet having to maintain an outside persona.

"

Fame

Will someone rip this mask from my face?

I’m recognized most everyplace and I feel

Like a big cat pacing in a cage.

Please let me be who I want to be

And not what you may think of me.

My heart is filled with passive rage.

Trapped inside this fantasy and betrayed

By a phony name; I’m property bought and paid.

Save me from this claustrophobic cell.

This ‘fame’ has betrayed with Judas’ kiss

And all I ever want is simple bliss

Oh someone save me from this living hell.

I chose 'batman' because if you watch a movie or TV show of Batman....it shows both sides of life.

This is really well written and has such good meaning. Thats why one part of me never wants to get famous, not that I will anyway. But I can't imagine losing all of that.

And I get the whole correlation between fame and batman.
I love batman!

"Will someone rip this mask from my face?"

Fantastic!
