Serene QuestA Poem by beancountersarThis is a poem about hiking in mountains. In search of quiet solitude I travelled To drink in peace through my windows; Touching a Chivalrous valley with my eyes So magnificent my very being departed for a moment. This most wonderful journey takes me to the edge Betwixt the green and sun-soaked valley that commands My devotion and massages my mind to such a degree That my spirit leaps within to bond with the beauty. Of trees and shadows and sunlit angles, The aspens and marshes and liquid trains rolling Beckons me to melt into canvass of nature and Demand that I listen to the roar of sweet nothings. But as I attend to this spectacle as an iron to magnet A silent voice of majesty gazes down upon my being. Open sky, dancing clouds and walls of gray welcome Sunrays, squeezing tears, creating life on the Giant. The shadows on the mountain chased gently placed snow As the movement of Spirit pushed white into blue As I looked back at the granite with ceiling of motion And realized this was the real life, this was true.
