To Aubry

To Aubry

A Poem by beancountersar

To Aubry

I gazed upon your photo;

Such exhilaration entered my soul

I looked upon your picture;

And intrigue overwhelmed me.

Your auburn hair, your emerald eyes

Set my heart aflame.

The inviting look would melt

My heart as lava flowing.

What’s behind the look,

That glance that captivates?

I want to wrap my arms around

your body and capture what cannot be held.

That aura I’ve known from long ago;

My memories are sparked by your beauty.

As a long look down a tree-lined road

Shaded by Southern summer leaves.

Steve

This is one I wrote this morning about love at first sight. You know when it happens to you and I hope this describes the feeling of falling for someone 'at first sight'..either in person or in a photo. Aubry is a name I've always loved, so I attached the two.

Love at first site - ahhh yes dear Steven. This is something that we women dream of, waiting for our knight in shining armor to come take care of us, protect us, love us, nurture us. To find such a man, is it possible? I've really no clue. What a lovely poem, it does invoke the feeling of being in love, well done.
