![]() DorisA Poem by beancountersar![]() This is a poem I wrote after reading the latest biography of Doris Day. Her life was such a paradox between the screen and reality. She has been unhappy most of her life; all she ever wanted was a husband who loved her and a family; two things that elu![]() Where do the pedals go when tempest torn From the flower so warm and bright? Does time stand still for each star That shines through the darkest night? Though weary and battered by storms indifference The beautiful vessel continues the trek; The raging of the waves only strengthen her Resolve, and fortify her heart, where dreams are kept. Love does go to that secret place seemingly unaware Of the pain and void it leaves in every trailing wake. The destination known, would we long to travel there… There to the depths, the place where the heart it would take? Hoist the idle sails and raise the burdening Anchor This place, this time…will be again Some day. Onward now to seas unknown, to shores beyond; Where forever Love was waiting to stay.
