Equinox

Equinox

This is a poem about how quickly time passes...

Equinox

The leaves of my head are changing

In the Autumn of my life.

Each day passing by seems shorter

And each minute must avoid strife.

It seems in a week my baby aged

From two to seventeen.

Just as it seems like yesterday

That the leaves turned red from green.

A part of the past is a prison of mistakes

and misdeeds I can do nothing about today.

But moreover many good things happened

That in my memories wish to stay.

So I say that we have this moment,

The present time to live

Shall now dance the dance of life

And find our happiness in the way we give.

What a very nice first visit I have just had with you. Time seems to fly as we grow older and what hit me the strongest here is this

"It seems in a week my baby aged
From two to seventeen."

My youngest baby (A girl) will be 31 in March.
Time marches on relentlessly with no way to stop it. To live in the moment is sometimes hard, but to live in the past is most times heartbreaking. Beautiful write. Blessings, Lesa

Time flies so fast, I agree with you on the last line, it is what we give to others that decide our happiness

Yes indeed, all we have is now and as we move on into the autumn of our lives there is that feeling of time running but I guess that just makes it all the more precious. Nice words.

Oh how beautiful. Yes in so many aspects
of our lives we do have to live for the moment
I dont want to miss any of them. I just really
try hard not to worry about tomorrow or
yesterday ... we cant really change either.
This really was a wonderful write

So beautiful, makes me meloncholy thinking about how fast time flies, grown children who were just babies the other day, but adding the beautiful season of fall into your thoughts...just wonderful!

The rhyme scheme is lovely. Your passage of time is one the common person can relate to, thus creating a sense of normalcy and comfort. I like the way you were able to describe your message with the season of Autumn and vibrant colors.
