sweet vinegar

sweet vinegar

A Poem by bey

she gave me her love
and i
spat it back in her face
never allowing our space
and time to merge into
the greatness
it could be

guilty
i raised my hand
relentlessly demanding what
i only saw as my need
i feel small now
what greed

she forgives me
she forgave me
when i did not see
the wrong i was mixing
control plus
anger plus
self equals
my heart was closed to her
but still she stood
awaiting open hours

she made my bitterness sweet
that is her
her love of me
