The masked girl

The masked girl

A Poem by bcfro

I know a girl who hides herself,
Her face a mask, never to tell,
The world of who she really is,
She spends her time avoiding it,
But she is sad inside because,
Her face she puts on is a bluff,
It hides the depth of all her sadness,
Keeps her safe from hellish madness,
Torments come from every angle,
So she puts the mask back on and strangles,
Her emotion,
Empty shell,
Leaves her hollow,
But they can't tell,
For they don't know her like I do,
They don't know her love is true,
All they see is a paper mask,
She hides behind, if any ask,
It stays on strong,
But I now know,
If she can love you back it will go,
From a mask to a window,
And show you the demon that's hiding behind,
She can't run, she can't hide,
From this demon inside,
Of her, but I am in love with her,
And all I need,
Is for her wrists to not bleed,
When the demon has to feed,
On her depression,
I have an obsession,
With her happiness,
I know it's somewhere in this,
Shell, and I will find it,
What ever it might take,
I will see her smiling face,
And know that everything has changed,
When she tried to tie the knot,
And I ripped it from her hands,
And I told her how I felt,
I told her all my plans,
She fell into my arms,
Started weeping on my sleeve,
And I finally saw the smile,
Then I knew she would never leave.
