UNFINISHEDA Story by Danny RaeChapter 2: It's not finished, enjoy what you can though."Come here Lilly, your friends are here." The lonely mother said to her only child as she held the door open for her young. "Play in the backyard and be safe, alright?" She spoke to Lilly as she shut the screen door behind her.
"Your mum seems nice, Lils." Parker added.
"She is sometimes, until she takes away my stuff." Lilly rolled her eyes at the thought.
"Why would she take your stuff away, Lils?" Parker questioned as they sat in the backyard on the swing set together.
"Well I get mouthy and whatever. She just likes to take my stuff away." Lilly started pushing herself on the swing, swinging back and forth only slightly as her toes still touched the ground, Parker copied.
"Don't you think you take her for granted?" Parker said, "I have three other siblings and you're an only child, I can see the difference between us sometimes." Parker said, he's 13, just a year older than Lilly.
"Mum..." Lilly said as she held her mums hand and her eyes got teary.
"What's wrong my dear..." Lilly's mum asked with concern as she was sitting next to her, facing her.
"Nothing, I just... Remembered something." Lilly spoke softly, Davis heard and wandered over to them looking at them both.
"Mrs... Do you remember anything yet? Even just your name? Your childs name?" Davis struggled up a conversation.
"My name is Terry, and this is my daughter Lilly." Terry smiled at Davis warmly, Lilly just looked away and watched as Davis' beard shifted when he smiled back, his teeth yellowing as if he smoked a pack a day. What did Lilly know though, she's only 12.
"And that's why I don't trust Davis. He's a psychotic pig, he's a prick and he's... UGH!" Aurora forced as she looked at me. She settled down and as we were sitting on the bed in the random house we've discovered for cover from whatever was after us; she brought me down and began snuggling into me. "You seem very sweet Danny... I feel like I know you but out of everyone here, I don't remember anything about you."
"You know the woman and her kid? You know anything about them -- remember I mean." I blushed, realising I sounded like a creeper, Aurora took my hand and put it up her shirt to rest on her stomach as she made me feel the grumbling in her tummy. "You're hungry? I don't know if we even have any food left... I can check if you'd like." I asked politely.
"I don't want to move, and yeah. I remember them somehow. I just know they are familar, I don't know how I know them or if I just--..." She paused and started into space with a blank expression on her face.
"Lilly, come here. Stop whinning!" Terry ordered Lilly, Aurora was having a flashback. She was in the mall by herself after just getting her pay cheque, she thought that spending money would be the best way to get her mind off the pain of being heartbroken but no matter how many sweaters, shoes, food or pairs of pants she bought herself; nothing seemed to work like his presence. "Lilly, I told you once. If I have to tell you again I'm walking right out of the store." Aurora could hear Lilly's whinning from the shop across the food court where she was. The store she was at had plenty of stuffed animals, different varieties of candy and really it was a childs dream!
"Aurora... Aurora... HELLO?!" She heard a feminie voice call from beside her, Aurora then took her focus of Terry and Lilly and to the girl, when she looked over she noticed it was Tali.
"Tali... Oh I'm sorry, I just.. I wasn't paying attention.." Aurora spoke softly.
"Figured Aurora. Anyways, so I think I'm picking Nate over Danny. He's pathetic, he can't even put a condom on. It's lame! How stupid do you have to be??" Tali asked as she was sipping on a diet pop with a straw in the cup.
"Yeah." Aurora said, thinking of Danny.
"Are you ok, Aurora? What's going on?" I asked as she then jolted and now remembered where she was, the memory came back and she held herself close to me.
"I just remember something from, I don't know when I just gathered more memory of the past. Even though it could've been a few days ago -- whatever doesn't matter." She said with a tint of frustration.
"Am I allowed to know the memory?" I asked softly, ready for rejection; I'm prone to rejection so I'm expecting it.
"Oh, it was about being with Tali. We talked about you, she said a lot of s**t behind your back; like she said that you don't know how to put a condom on and that you are... Pathetic.. and a bunch of stupid stuff that isn't true, I don't think you're pathetic, and I'm sure you can... use a condom... you're amazing ok? Enough f*****g said!" She blushed and sat up, "Should we go downstairs."
"Sure, I guess." I muttered, embarrassed and slightly hurt. We went downstairs to see them all formed at a partially boarded up window, peaking out into the streets.
"Do you see that?" Davis asked the rest of the group as me and Aurora rushed up and gathered up with them. I couldn't find room to look out the window so I sat down on the couch patiently and waited for them to move.
"Is... That what is after us?" Terry questioned the group.
"Yup, it is. It's zombie aliens and they're all after us, just us; because we are so f*****g amazing and special that we have a meaning and we all could save the world even though some of us will die on the way to succeed." I stared angrily at the group, glaring. Shaking my head then getting up and walking to the kitchen to scavenge for something; the group just watched me as I did.
"What the f**k is his problem?" Davis asked then laughed.
"He's just emotion -- very emotional!" Tali laughed, trying to get on Davis' good side.
"Sounds like it, guess he's the first one to get it here, HA!" Davis taunted.
"Hahah, you're so funny Davis." Tali commented. I opened the fridge and there being nothing left, I slammed it shut and stormed to the front door. "Where are you going, Dan.." Tali questioned me, I ignored and opened the door fast and left, Aurora followed me.
"I can't take it, we haven't left that f*****g house for like what... Three days? I'm going insane!" I said as I kept walking.
"I can tell, plus being in there with them... I would've left a left a long time ago." She reassured trying to comfort me.
"All I can say is that I cannot go back in there." I wandered across the street having a conversation with Aurora as she tried comforting me. She smiled and joked actually managing to lift my mood, I smiled and laughed at her jokes.
"Stop where you are!" we heard and I just stood there looking around as I was then being dragged to the nearest house. Crashing into the door opening it, we got in fast and closed the door.
"Danny, be very quiet ok...? They're right beside this house..."
"How do you know?" I questioned.
"I seen them while you were laughing at your freakin' feet, Dan."
"Oh, well then--" She put her palm on my lips to sush me. I kept mumbling and trying to get her hand on my lips, at this point I was rather frustrated that she wouldn't listen to me. "Let me speak!" my voice was muffled under her hand.
"No.. SHUT UP." She took her hand off and as I was about to give her s**t she kissed me, I was very surprised but I managed to kiss her back as my face grew warm and she stopped. We opened our eyes and looked at each other in the eyes then she aggressively kissed me again, being passionate once our lips met again. She had her hand on the back of my head, pulling my hair slightly. I bit her lip as she let out a soft moan and I gasped when I heard it. There was a gunshot and I toppled onto her as she fell to the ground, I held her and looked around; trying to protect her. As I was looking around I hadn't noticed that she was looking up at me and admiring my facial structure. My peachfuzz and jawline, she blushed but stayed underneath me until I let her back up again. "Are we safe now..." Aurora spoke softly as I could feel her breath against my neck as she opened her mouth.
"I think so... Sorry for tackling you by the way..." I got up and grabbed her hand to help her up as well.
"No problem, Danny... Thank you.."
