Commander, No Commander.

Commander, No Commander.

A Poem by Danny Rae

I've got blood on my face,

Bruises cover my body.

Where is this place?

Where have they brought me?

I think they drugged me,

I feel light headed.

Perhaps they mugged me,

Am I next to be beheaded?

The white falling,

It's October.

I hear my calling,

But I don't remember.

This sheet of paper,

This tiny pencil I wield.

I want to help her,

My body hasn't healed.

This horrific warfare,

This massive collision.

My galaxy should prepare,

Is it up to me to make the final decison?

When will I be saved?

From this shithole.

I'm not part of a raid,

Only light is through a pinhole.

I'm trapped here,

With men like me.

Growling I hear,

They don't like me.

"Commander."

"I'm as helpless as you."

"But you found her..."

"I don't even know you!"

Men growl at me,

Trying to get me up.

Shouting angrily,

I am no Commander, nope.

"I'm a stranger to you men."

"You're like a Commander, sir."

"Don't look at me, I didn't get you in this pig pen."

"I guess, well... Sure."

Breathing in the cold,

Bodies pressed together.

These men are bold,

But nothing lasts forever.

I'm not even a soldier,

I don't know how I got here.

I'm not a mould or,

anything I'm sincere.
