Bring Love! Bring Love! Bring Love!

Bring Love! Bring Love! Bring Love!

A Poem by BLBrown

I care not for those worldly and soulless desires

Not for the silver lying stagnant in the felt lined drawer

Nor for the sparkling crystal ne’er seen in the cabinet

Nor for the fancy house with e’er one room too many

Nor for the big auto that screams down the road

For I have seen the face of happiness and it is fair

‘Tis the touch of his hand, the crinkle of his eye

that I pine for as he lies sleeping and lightly snoring

‘Tis simple laughter of my child now grown and loved

and the romping of my kittens in the midst of night

And I have looked, in this world, upon great sadness and pain

for the starving children of the expanding Sahara of Africa

for the wounded warriors returning less a limb from war

for the dying rainforests around the world being sucked dry

thus I know that ‘tis human care which matters most of all

So bring me no gifts, for they offer me no joy or purpose

I care not for these trappings, and beg you just to...

bring love! bring love! bring love!
