You Can't Scare Me

You Can't Scare Me

A Poem by BLBrown
"

The empowerment that rises from severe despair. Nobody can mess with me, for I have survived hell and, having gone through that dark tunnel, and I am the untouchable.

"

You think me, you can control?

I live in a forced world, heightened yet too low,

where depression is an ever constant, quieted struggle.

You, an ugly ego bound, predictive narcissistic dream,

no way you can control me!

You think that you can scare me?

I, with the Devil, so lived for eighteen years,

I know hell’s dark portrait, and it looks nothing, to you even close.

You, with fierce eyes, heavy hands, I just away with you, a shove,

no way you can e’er scare me!

You think you can beat me down?

I have incurable cancer of the blood,

Leukemia, I fight each blessed day of my diseased life.

You, with all your high and mighty ways and constant need to win,

no way you can beat me down!

You best be on your way, for I am…

she of the empty tears and a battle-hardened heart.
