Drop Let GoA Poem by bboooydDrops splash down and green the leaves. Dead leaves sometimes sit on sidewalks holding these drops. The clear liquid beads up inside them and settles solid. A drop of water on a fallen leaf. The drop could’ve landed anywhere. (Earth swallows others happily with a thirsty mouth) Instead there is its beauty, Rolling motionless on a dying bed. I imagine purity inside the drop. I want to feel it. It would sting my hand with its cleanliness and earth. A sting that separates being and was. A sharp stab of past and present and future. It’s been everywhere and through everything. A constant to the world. still it stopped to console a friend until both the leaf and the drop let go. © 2013 bboooydReviews
