My Daily RoutineA Poem by BbCherryTomatoDealing with separation is harder when everything in your daily routine reminds you of him.05:00: Wake up, get up from bed, wash up (Wonder if you're already up) 05:15: Brew coffee, toast bread, drink coffee, eat bread (Wonder if you've already had breakfast) 05:30: Bathe, dry hair, dress for work (Wonder if you're dressing up, too) 06:00: Lock the house, walk to the bus stop, commute to work. (Wonder if you're taking the bus or the train) 07:00: Log in, check pending emails or pretend to do so (Wonder what you're doing now) 09:00: Take a 15-minute coffee break and pretend to listen to the senseless chatter around the cafeteria (Wonder if you're taking a break too) 09:15: Return to cubicle and pretend to work (Wonder how your day is going) 12:00: Take my lunch break, feign interest in my lunchmate's tale of woe (Wonder what you're having for lunch) 13:00: Get back to work or at least pretend to (Wonder if you're enjoying your day) 16:00: Log out, sign off, walk to bus stop, commute back home (Wonder if you still working overtime) 17:00: Open door to an empty apartment, change, prepare dinner. (Wonder if you're home now) 18:00: Eat dinner in front of TV, wash dishes, tidy kitchen (Wonder what you're having for dinner) 20:00: Shower, have a hot cup of tea before going to bed (Wonder if you're having tea, too, like we used to) 21:00: Lay in bed, stare up the ceiling, let the tears flow... And wonder if you're snuggling close to her now, if you're whispering sweet nothings into her ear as you slowly wrap your arms around her waist, if you're planting sweet kisses on her nape now, just like you used to do, a hundred lifetimes ago, when I was still your world and you were still mine.. And as the night turns into morning, I wonder if my heart will ever stop breaking And if I'd ever be able to stop this daily routine Now that you're gone and no longer mine... © 2017 BbCherryTomatoFeatured Review
